semiconductor industry’s standardization body.

The “go-to guy”

Gene Freeman, Mel’s manager, says, “Mel is the go-to guy for many
topics because his expertise is both broad and deep. He is well known
as our lead AMD architect. He is sought out by various HP quality
assurance, support, and manufacturing organizations because of his

ability to advise and find the root cause on just about any hardware
issue that may arise.”

A problem solver

Gene Freeman says that Mel is often called upon in to analyze
complex technical issues. In a recent customer briefing with a major
pharmaceutical company, Mel was able to answer, in detail, a number
of customer concerns by explaining the cause and solution for each
problem.

With more than four decades of experience, Mel still attempts to get
customer input and keep the customer perspective in mind in all the
work he does. His efforts to resolve technical issues are part of the
reason why customers remain confident in HP servers.
