13. Place the Media Card Reader in the FlexBay drive cage and slide it towards the cage notch to align the cage notch with the notch holes in the Media Card Reader. 14. Align the two screw holes on the Media Card Reader with the FlexBay drive cage. 15. Tighten the two screws to secure the Media Card Reader in the FlexBay drive cage. 16. Slide the FlexBay drive cage along with the Media Card Reader in the FlexBay slot till it snaps in place. 17. Connect the FlexBay USB cable to the back of the Media Card Reader and to the internal USB connector (F_USB5) on the system board (see System Board Components). 18. Replace the optical drive (see Replacing the Optical Drive). 19. Replace the front panel (see Replacing the Front Panel). 20. Replace the computer cover (see Replacing the Computer Cover). 21. Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and then turn them on. Replacing the FlexDock 1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin. 2. Remove the computer cover (see Replacing the Computer Cover). 1 FlexBay drive cage 2 spring clamps (2) 3 cage notch (2) 4 Media Card Reader 5 screws (2) NOTE: Ensure that the Media Card Reader is installed before the FlexBay cable is connected. 3. Remove the front panel (see Replacing the Front Panel). 4. Remove the optical drive (see Replacing the Optical Drive). 5. Disconnect the FlexDock USB cable from the back of the FlexDock and from the internal USB connector (F_USB1) on the system board (see System Board Components). 6. Press the two spring clamps and slide out the FlexDock along with the FlexDock drive cage from the FlexDock slot. 7. Remove the two screws holding the FlexDock in the FlexDock drive cage. 8. Lift the FlexDock to separate it from the FlexDock drive cage. 9. If you are not reinstalling the FlexDock: a. Replace the optical drive (see Replacing the Optical Drive) b. Reinstall the FlexBay/FlexDock drive insert. c. Replace the front panel (see Replacing the Front Panel'). d. Replace the computer cover (see Replacing the Computer Cover). 10. If you are installing a new FlexDock, remove the FlexDock from its packaging. 11. Remove the FlexBay/FlexDock drive insert (see Replacing the FlexBay/FlexDock Drive Insert). 12. Press the two spring clamps and slide out the FlexDock drive cage from the front of the system. 13. Removing the FlexBay/FlexDock Break-Away Metal Plate Align the tip of a Phillips screwdriver with the slot on the break-away metal plate and rotate the screwdriver outwards to break and remove the metal plate. Replacing the FlexBay/FlexDock Drive Insert 1. Remove the front panel (see Replacing the Front Panel). Gently press on the FlexBay drive insert lever outward to release the lock. 3. Pull the FlexBay drive insert away from the front panel. 4. To replace the FlexBay drive insert, align the FlexBay drive insert in place. 5. Push the insert lever towards the front panel till it snaps in place. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin. 2. Remove the computer cover (see Replacing the Computer Cover). 3. Disconnect the chassis fan cable from the system board connector (SYS_FAN1). 4. Remove the screw securing the chassis fan with the chassis. 5. Slide and pull the chassis fan away from the chassis. 6. To replace the chassis fan, align the fan top notch with the chassis fan guide and push the chassis fan towards the chassis. 7. Slide the chassis fan in place. 8. Replace the screw that secures the chassis fan to chassis. 9. Connect the chassis fan cable to the system board connector (SYS_FAN1). 10. ...
