To turn off the altimeter or depth gauge, set the Altimeter/depth gauge to Off. 88, E91 Technical Notes and Index F17 Technical Notes and Index Problem Cause/Solution A The altimeter or depth gauge and atmospheric pressure icon remain displayed on the shooting screen. Set Photo info of Monitor settings in the setup menu to Hide info. 76, E65 Unable to display the altimeter or depth gauge even when Altimeter/depth gauge is set to On. Even when Altimeter/depth gauge is set to On, the altimeter or depth gauge is not displayed in the following situations. • When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway • During shooting in the Easy panorama scene mode • During movie recording • When a subject is registered using Subject tracking of AF area mode • When a message is being displayed – 39 69 55, E38 – Water depth shows 0 m The water depth will be displayed as 0 m if the camera is not submerged under water when the Underwater scene mode is selected. 41 Unable to select Use location data of Alt./ depth correction in the Location data options menu. • Record location data in the Location data options menu is set to Off. • You cannot select this function unless signals are received from four or more satellites and positioning has been performed. • The camera is submerged under water. You cannot select this function during underwater shooting. 78 80 – Unable to select Create log in the Clock not set. 76, Location data options Set date and time. E63 menu. Unable to select Start all logs or Start location log. • Record location data in the Location data options menu is set to Off. • The camera is recording log data. To record a new log, select End all logs or End location log, and end the log currently being recorded. 78 88, E83 F18 Problem Cause/Solution A Unable to save log data. • Make sure that a memory card is inserted in the camera. • Up to 36 log data events for location data logs can be recorded per day whereas up to 34 log data events each for altitude logs and water depth logs can be recorded per day. • The total number of log data events that can be saved on a single memory card is 200, which includes up to 100 log data events for location data logs and up to 100 log data events for a combined total of altitude logs and water depth logs. Delete log data that is no longer required from a memory card or replace the memory card with a new one. – – E85, E86 Unable to display the water depth log as a graph Log files are created but are not displayed as graphs if you selected Start depth log but did not submerge the camera under water. E86 Wi-Fi Problem Cause/Solution A SSID (network name) of the camera is not displayed on the smart device. Select Connect to smart device in the Wi-Fi options menu on the camera to enter connection standby mode.
