Thanks to the unique ‘Hydraprotect’ sensor system your hair stays healthy and well cared for. We hope you will enjoy using your Philips Hydraprotect Coiffure hairdryer. To make optimal use of the appliance and to obtain the best results, we advise you to read these instructions for use before you use the hairdryer for the first time. Scientific research has shown that drying your hair at a high temperature for too long causes the moisture content to decrease too much and may even cause the hair to dry out. 4 The hair will feel coarse and dry,will be difficult to manage and will look dull and frizzy. On the contrary, if your hair retains its natural moisture content, it will be smooth, shiny and easy to style. Hydra-sensor (A) and Hydra-indicator (B) Thanks to the unique ‘Hydraprotect’ sensor system you can be sure that the moisture content of your hair will be kept at its natural level. During the drying process, the sensor continuously measures the humidity of your hair and adjust consequently its air temperature. When the hair is still very wet, the air temperature will be high enough to allow fast drying. While the hair gets dryer, the air temperature decreases. When your hair is almost dry and has a proper moisture content, the Hydraprotect dryer will automatically select the caring temperature. Note: when you start drying in wet hair , the Hydra indicator light will turn green for approximately three seconds. This is the time the sensor needs to adjust itself. Make sure that the Hydra-sensor pins are in contact with the hair; otherwise the sensor will not work. So, do not dry your hair from a distance. Air speed settings (D) Select the most suitable setting: Setting I: gentle airflow, especially suitable for thin hair and controlled styling. Setting II: strong airflow, especially suitable for drying thick hair. 5 Cool shot (E) You can give hold to your style by directing a cool airflow at it. Press the cool shot button for a few seconds. As soon as you press the button, the Hydra indicator light will turn green. The temperature of the airflow is then decreased to a level below the caring temperature.Press the button again to return to the preset temperature. You can disconnect them by pressing the release button (H). Drying and styling step by step The Hydraprotect Coiffure hairdryer has been developed for use in wet hair. With its 3 attachments you can therefore style and dry at the same time. We advise to always use the attachements to get quicker and better results. To do so, follow the step-by-step method described below. As you become more familiar with the appliance, you will discover that you can create many more styles with it. Just use your imagination! 6 Step 1: disentangling your hair Wash your hair and pat it dry gently with a towel. Start drying with the comb attachment (I) and keep combing until you have disentangled your hair (fig. 2).
