The display shows the current time. 1-31 Unpacking and Initial Preparation Unpacking and initial Preparation Setting the remote code (REMOTE TAD ID) for remote TAD operation The REMOTE TAD ID is used to access your answering device (TAD) from a remote location with a touch tone phone. See pages 4-19 to 4-24. Using this code, you can retrieve incoming messages recorded on the microcassette tape from a remote location. The REMOTE TAD ID is preset to 111. If you wish to change the number, you can choose any number from 111 to 999 except numbers including "0”. For proper operation, make sure that the REMOTE TAD ID number is different from your PRIVACY RING ID number (see page 4-25). 1 Press the PROGRAM button. The display shows “P- 2 u OPER 0 TUV 8 Press #, then press 08. The display shows “P-F08 111”. Enter the desired REMOTE TAD ID using the dial keypad. To correct an error while programming, press the STOP/CLEAR button then correct input. Press the SET button to store your selection into memory. The display shows “P- ”. Press the PROGRAM button to end the operation. The display shows the current time. NOTE: We recommend that you do not use seven (7) as a code number, since this number is used as the greeting message re-recording command for remote operations. 1-32 HELP Function —If you have lost your procedures— The HELP button is used to print information about how to send documents, how to set up your unit and how to store phone numbers. ■ Press the HELP button when the unit is in the idle status.
