DOORS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TOOLS RKQl'lRHD: Drill. 3/32" hit. Phillips screwdri\er. chisel. hammer, awl. pencil. 1-1/4" spade bit or 1-1/4" rouler. New Installation: 1. Position top of hinge approximately 5" from top of door and bottom hinge approximately 10" from floor. Position the third liinge equally between the lop and bottom hinges. 2. The hinge barrels should extend out frontdoor enough lo clear door casing. See illustration. 3. Trace hinge outline and mortise door to lit thickness ol hinge leal. The inside edge of hinge should be approximately 1/4" from door edge. See illustration. 4. Mark and drill pilot holes with 3/32" drill bit. 5. Fasten hinges to door and jamb w ith screw s provided. Make sure the end with the hole is pointed tow ard the floor. Replacement Installation: 1. Remove hinge pins from all hinges. 2. Remove door from frame. 3. Remove exisiing hinges. 4. Install new hinges. Note: Tapping a nail through the hole in hinge tip will remove hinge pin. H.B. Ives Solid Brass products have a clear, protective lacquer coaling which helps prevent discoloration. Polish with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive waxes or cleaners.
