7 77 Press PR -or PR + to select another video channel. You may select any channel number between 22 and 68. You can also set it to “OFF” if there is any interference when your TV is connected to the VCR with a SCART lead. 8 88 Select a TV channel number on which you wish to watch video’s. Press I on the front of your unit when you have finished. Tune this channel so that a bright blue screen appears. Store this channel on your TV. Note Make sure that you have correctly installed your VCR and successfully tuned in a dedicated video channel on your TV. If you do not tune in a dedicated video channel on your TV you will be unable to view and record video tapes! Initial preset For the following steps we do assume that you have just connected your video recorder for the very first time. In this case the video recorder is on after mains connection. You should not touch any buttons yet. On the connected TV you will now see initial menu picture screen. Note -If this menu does not appear, your video recorder was programmed already. 1 11 If you have a satellite receiver make sure that it is connected to your VCR, switched on and Sky News has been selected. The clock is set automatically during ACMS (Automatic Channel Memory System) when your VCR detects a channel that broadcasts a Teletext signal. If the broadcast signal is weak the clock will not be set and will require setting manually. 1 11 Press MENU. Press 1 or 2 to select TIME DATE. Press OK. The auto adjust mode can be set to “OFF” by pressing D or E if you want to set the time manually. Press OK. The menus are controlled from the Remote Control Handset. 1 11 Switch on your TV set and video recorder by pressing the POWER button. 2 22 Press MENU button. The main menu will appear on the TV screen. Various operational indicators will not appear on the TV screen when this function is set to “OFF”. O 16:9/4:3 -To select the aspect ratio of your TV (see p.34). O STB THROUGH -When Set Top Box is connected to AV2 socket you can watch the channel that you select with STB if you set STB THROUGH to “ON”. At this time, you have to set video output switch to “RGB”. O EPC -To improve the playback picture (see p. 22). O NIC -To activate or deactivate the NICAM digital sound (see p. 34). 3 33 Press 1 and 2 to select the desired menu. Press OK and press 3 or 4 to select. 4 44 Press "MENU" to return to a TV picture. Tuning in TV Stations Automatically If the TV broadcast signal is weak your VCR may not detect the necessary information and will be unable to identify station names and sort them correctly. To overcome this problem please turn to the MANUAL TUNING section on page 16. 1 11 Press POWER to turn on your VCR. 2 22 Press MENU button. The main menu will appear on the TV screen. Press 1 or 2 to select the ACMS. Press OK. The VCR’s clock will be set automatically when automatic tuning has finished.
