If you need to ship the DVD/VCR, for maximum protection, re-pack the it as it was originally packed at the factory. Keeping the exterior surfaces clean • Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray near the DVD/VCR. • Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with the DVD/VCR for a long period of time because they can leave marks on the surface. Cleaning the case • To clean the player, use a soft, dry cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. • Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as these might damage the surface of the player. Maintaining the DVD/VCR This DVD/VCR is a high-tech, precision device. If the optical pick-up lens and disc drive parts are dirty or worn, the picture quality could be diminished. Depending on the operating environment, regular inspection and maintenance are recommended after every 1,000 hours of use. For details, please contact your nearest authorized service center. Care and handling of discs Handling discs Do not touch the playback side of the disc. Hold the disc by the edges so that fingerprints do not get on the surface. Never stick paper or tape on the disc. Storing discs After playing, store the disc in its case. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct sunlight. Cleaning discs Fingerprints and dust on the disc can cause poor picture quality and sound distortion. Before playing, clean the disc with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out. Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static spray intended for older vinyl records. Note Never operate this product immediately after moving it from a cold location to a warm location. Leave it for two or three hours without operating it. If you use this product in such a situation, it may damage tapes, discs, or internal parts. Resetting the DVD/VCR Reset your DVD/VCR if you observe any of the following symptoms: • When the DVD/VCR is plugged in, but the power will not turn on or off. • When the display window does not work. • When the DVD/VCR does not operate normally. To reset the DVD/VCR: • Press and hold the POWER button for more than five seconds. This forces the DVD/VCR to turn off. Press the POWER button again to turn the DVD/VCR back on. - OR Unplug the power cord and then plug the power cord again after more than five seconds.
