You can also search for a scene using the time code. 1 Press INFO during playback. 2 Select a search method, using M/m. “Title Search” (for HDD/DVDs) “Chap.Search” (for HDD/DVDs) “Track Search” (for VIDEO CDs*) “Time Search” (for HDD/DVDs/ VIDEO CDs*): Searches for a starting point by entering the time code. * When playing with PBC functions, cancel the functions by pressing TITLE LIST before step 1. +RRWVR RWVideo+RW 3 Select the number of the title, chapter, time code, etc., you want using the number buttons or ,. For example: Time Search To find a scene at 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds, enter “21020.” If you make a mistake, select another number. 4 Press . Playback starts from the selected number. To close the “Play Mode” menu Press INFO, O RETURN, or SYSTEM MENU. To make a favourite scene (HDD only) You can have the recorder store specific portions of the title in memory and play immediately whenever you want. Up to 99 markings can be set. 1 Press MARKER during playback. The marker menu appears at the bottom of the screen. 2 Select a scene you want to mark using N, X, or m/M. 3 Press the red button (“Add”) at the scene you want to mark. The marker is added. To search for the marked scene, press , or ./>. To delete a marker, select the marker using , or ./>, and press the green button (“Delete”). To exit the marker menu, press MARKER again. Playing repeatedly (Repeat) You can repeatedly play all the tracks or a single title/chapter/track on the HDD or a disc. 1 Press INFO during normal playback. 2 Select “Repeat” using M/m. Playback ,continued 3 3 “Title” (for HDD/DVDs): repeats the current title. “Chapter” (for HDD/DVDs): repeats the current chapter. “Track” (for VIDEO CDs): repeats the current track. “Disc” (for VIDEO CDs): repeats the entire disc. 4 Press . Repeat play starts. To play a specific portion repeatedly (Repeat A-B) 1 Select “A-B” in step 3. 2 Press . The “Repeat A-B” display appears. 3 Press again to set the starting point (point A). 4 Press again to set the ending point (point B). Repeat-A-B play starts. To cancel Repeat play Press CLEAR, or set “Repeat” to “Off” in the “Play Mode” menu. To close the “Play Mode” menu Press INFO, O RETURN, or SYSTEM MENU. z To play VIDEO CDs repeatedly, cancel the PBC functions by pressing TITLE LIST before step 1. b • Set the start and stop points for “Repeat A-B” within the same title. • Sections shorter than 7 seconds cannot be set for “Repeat A-B.” To change the angles 1 Press INFO during playback to select “Angle.” 2 Change the angles using ,, and press . b You can change the angles only when multi-angles are recorded on the DVD. Playing DivX/Music/ Photo Files Copying DivX/music/photo files to the HDD 1 Connect the USB device to the USB jack on the recorder. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the USB device before connecting. DVD recorder to USB jack USB device b • Some USB devices may not work with this recorder. • The recorder can recognise Mass Storage Class (MSC) devices that are FAT- compatible. 2 Press HDD. 3 Press SYSTEM MENU. The System Menu appears. 4 Select “Media,” and press . 5 Select “USB,” and press . 6 Select a file type (“Video (DivX),” “Photo,” or “Music”), and press . Select a USB partition, if necessary. The DivX List, Photo List, or Music List appears. 7 Press the red button (“Edit”) to select “Copy,” and press . The Copy List appears. When copying photo files from a USB device, the display asks whether to categorise the data by date. Select “Yes” or “No.” 8 8 A check mark appears by the selected item. • To clear the check mark, press MARKER again. • To select/unselect all items, press the yellow button (“Selection”) repeatedly. • To change the item order, press the green button (“Sort”) to select “Name,” “Size,” or “Date” (for photo files only), and press . 9 Repeat step 8 to select all the folders or files/tracks you want to copy. When you do not select a destination folder, skip steps 10 and 11. 10 Press ,. 11 Select a copy destination (a folder) using M/m, and press . To create a new folder, press the green button (“New Folder”). To change the folder name, press the yellow button (“Rename”) (page 68). 12 Press the red button (“Start Copy”). The items are copied to the HDD. To copy DivX/music/photo files to the HDD (DISC t HDD) 1 Press DVD, and insert a disc. 2 Press SYSTEM MENU. The system menu appears. 3 Select “Media,” and press . 4 Follow steps 6 to 12 of “Copying DivX/ music/photo files to the HDD” on page 58. Notes on copying files • Music files from a CD are converted to MP3 format. Names for music files are automatically labelled as “TRACK01,” “TRACK02,” etc. • While copying files, other operations including timer recordings are unavailable. If the timer is set during copying, the recorder starts the timer recording after copying is finished. • Some discs cannot be copied to the HDD. • If the HDD becomes full during copying, a warning message appears.
