Important Notice for TV colour system The colour system of this player differs according to currently playing discs. For example, when the player plays the disc recorded in the NTSC colour system, the image is output as an NTSC signal. Only the multi system colour TV can receive all signals output from the player. • If you have a PAL colour system T V, you will see just distorted images when using discs or video contents recorded in NTSC. • The multi system colour T V changes the colour system automatically according to input signals. In case that the colour system is not changed automatically, turn it off and then on to see normal images on screen. • Even if the disc recorded in NTSC colour system are well displayed on your TV, these may not be recorded correctly on your recorder. 1 Safety Information Contents 1 Safety Information 3 Cautions and Warnings 2 Preparation 8 Introduction 8 About the “ ” Symbol Display 8 Symbols Used in this Manual 8 Supplied Accesorries 9 Playable Discs 10 File compatibility 11 Regional Code 11 AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Defi nition) 11 Certain System Requirements 11 Compatibility Notes 12 Remote control 13 Front panel 13 Rear panel 3 Installation 14 Connecting to Your TV 14 HDMI Connection 15 What is SIMPLINK? 16 Component Video Connection 16 Video/Audio (Left/Right) Connection 17 Resolution Setting 18 Connecting to an Amplifi er 18 Connecting to an Amplifi er via HDMI Output 19 Connecting to an Amplifi er via Digital Audio Output 19 Connecting to an Amplifi er via 2 Channel Audio Output 20 Connecting to your Home Network 20 Wired network connection 21 Wired Network Setup 23 USB device connection 23 Playback content in the USB device 24 Settings 24 Adjust the Setup Settings 25 [DISPLAY] Menu 26 [LANGUAGE] Menu 27 [AUDIO] Menu 28 [LOCK] Menu 29 [NETWORK] Menu 30 [OTHERS] Menu 7 4 Operation 7 Appendix 31 33 3740 41 42 44 45 45 47484848 General Playback Advanced Playback On-Screen display Enjoying BD-LIVE Playing a movie file and VR disc Viewing a photo Listening to music during a slide show Listening to music Audio CD Recording Viewing information from Gracenote Media Database Playing YouTube™ videos Watch YouTube™ videos on your TV About the YouTube™ menu 56 57 59 60 61 63 65 66 67 68 Controlling a TV with the Supplied Remote Control Network Software Update Area Code List Language code List Trademarks and Licenses Audio Output Specifi cations Video Output Resolution Specifi cations Important Information Relating to Network Services Open source software notice 49 50 51 Using the virtual keyboard Searching videos Sign in with your YouTube™ account 5 Maintenance 52 Notes on Discs 52 Handling the Unit 6 Troubleshooting 53 General 54 Picture 54 Sound 55 Network 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Preparation Preparation 2 2 Preparation Introduction About the “ ” Symbol Display “ ” may appear on your TV display during operation and indicates that the function explained in this owner’s manual is not available on that specifi c media.
