Pour sufficient amounts of cooking fluid. Fit the lid and stew the food at the required temperature. Roasting in the roaster Plug in the roaster's heating element. Place the roaster on the pull-out rack on the lowest level into the oven compartment. Close the oven door. Set the roaster function and the required temperature. The temperature can be set up to 220 °C in the roaster program. Wait until the heating up symbol goes off before you insert the food into the roaster. You are advised to use the core temperature sensor, which automatically switches of the oven when the desired cooking result has been achieved. Important: only use the core temperature sensor when you use the roaster without the lid. Tips & Tricks Quick Roast Function Featured only on ovens with the roaster function. During the quick roast function the oven will heat up at full power for approx. 3 minutes. You can use the quick roast function for example to sear steaks. Keep the g key pressed until a signal is sounded. The quick roast function starts. You can select the quick roast function again several times if required. If you want to abort the quick roast function press the g key again. Note: the quick roast function ends when the oven door is opened. Do not cover the roaster with the lid during the quick roast function. Using the roaster as a casserole dish The roaster is also suitable as a casserole dish. Place the roaster on the pull-out rack on the second level from below. Set the oven to top and bottom heating mode. Set the required temperature, but not more than 220°C. Thanks to our special non-stick coating, you can brown food with very little fat. If the roaster is preheated in the oven, only add the fat just before browning. Tip: Do not place the fat in the roaster, but oil the meat instead. This ensures a direct transfer of heat. Cooking fluids soon soak in. So always make sure there is enough cooking fluid. You should add approx. 1/2 l of fluid for a cooking time of about 30 minutes. When cooking food in a sauce, remember to keep adding cooking fluid. Cleaning and Care Important: remove the heating element, the pull-out rack and the roaster from the oven compartment when carrying out pyrolytic cleaning. The temperature during pyrolytic cleaning will damage the non-stick coating. Thanks to the non-stick coating, most soiling can be removed with hot detergent solution and a soft brush. Soak stubborn soiling in detergent solution. Never use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents, grill or oven sprays, sponges with abrasive surfaces or sharp objects. These may damage the non-stick coating. Do not clean the roaster in a dish washer! When storing the roaster, place the lid on it. Do not place the lid on the roaster upside down. This will damage the non-stick coating. Recipes Our selection of recipes takes you on a journey across Europe. Our recipes are suitable for 6 to 12 persons. Always preheat the oven; our recipes indicate whether you also have to heat up the roaster at the same time. Your roaster was cast from solid metal, a manufacturing process that guarantees optimum, even heat transfer. The heating up time is about 25 minutes. Therefore, switch on your oven before beginning to prepare your food.
