Take off O-ring (44) and hook out oil seal (43) and press out anvil bushing (42) from housing (1). Grip hammer cage (34) and pull off the hammer mechanism assembly. Take off anvil spacer (38) and from hammer cage (34) pull out anvil (37). (45) or (50), spring (51) and thrust button (52). Push out 2 hammer pins (36) from hammer cage (34) to release 2 hammers (35) and carefully note how the two hammers (35) are located to hammer cage (34) by hammer pins (36) for reassembly). If replacements are required, remove O-ring (39) and socket ring (40) or spring (46), lock fitting (47) and lock collar (48) from anvil as applicable. Remove 4 screws with washers (33) from rear end of the too! and putl off end cap (18) and air regulator reverse valve assembly. Remove C-ring (23) and carefully pull air regulator reverse valve (20) through gasket (17) and end cap (18) being careful not lose steel ball (22) and spring (21) that may spring out as valve is pulled through the end cap (18). Remove O-ring (19) from air regulator reverse valve (20). With a soft hammer, tap the end of rotor (26) and front plate (32) to drive the motor assembly out of motor housing (1). Remove guide pin (29). Pull off rear plate (25) arid bearing assembly and front plate (32) and bearing and seals assembly from rotor (26).Take off cylinder (28) and take out 6 rotor blades (27) from rotor (26). Take off O-ring (31) and remove oil seal (30) and ball bearing (24) from front plate (32) and ball bearing (24) from rear plate (25). Unscrew hose adaptor (16) and remove exhaust deflector (15) and take out valve spring (14) and valve stem (13). Unscrew 2 screws (12) and pull out the trigger valve assembly. Finally separate stop cover (5), stop cover gasket (6), throttle pin (4) and throttle bushing (8) and remove E-ring (10) from throttle pin (4) and O-rings (7) and (9) from throttle bushing (8). Reassembly Clean all parts and examine for wear, damage, cracks, etc. particularly the anvil (37) or (45) around the square drive area. Examine O-rings and oil seals for cuts and wear. Replace all parts where necessary with manufacturer supplied parts. Make sure that the faces of end plates (32) and (25) that abut cylinder (28) are flat and free from surface defects and burrs. If necessary, lap faces with a very fine grade of abrasive paper. Lightly coat all parts »nth a suitable pneumatic tool lubricating oil and assemble in the reverse order. On completing assembly, ensure that all parts are locked tight, the anvil will rotate, and the trigger reverse valve and air regulator mechanism operate freely. Remove oil plug (3) and pour in 5/8 ff. oz. (15cc) of a standard SAE20 grade oil. Do not overfill as this will result in a reduction in performance. Pour in approx. 5 ml of a good quality lubricating oil (one preferably containing a rust inhibitor) into the hose adaptor (16) with the trigger depressed. Connect to a suitable air supply and run the tool for a few seconds to allow the oil to circulate and reset for operation. Refer to section Operating.
