manual abstract

If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. • Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. • Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from intended could result in a hazardous situation. Service • Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair personnel using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Additional safety rules for screwguns • Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance. • Fully unwind cable drum extensions to avoid potential overheating. • When an extension cable is required, you must ensure it has the right ampere rating for your power tool and is in a safe electrical condition. • Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as your tool rating plate voltage. • Your tool is double insulated for additional protection against a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool. • Always check walls, floors and ceilings to avoid hidden power cables and pipes. • After long working periods external metal parts and accessories could be hot. • Do not put pressure on the screwgun, such that it slows the motor down. Allow the screwgun bit to cut without pressure. You will get better results and you will be taking better care of your tool. • Always switch off before you put the screwgun down. • Before operating, check that there is sufficient clearance for the screw under the workpiece. • Only use accessory bits in good condition. • Rags, cloths, cord, string and the like should never be left around the work area. • If possible, always use clamps or a vice to hold your work. • Ensure that the lighting is adequate. 5 • Keep the area free of tripping hazards. • Do not let anyone under 18 years operate this tool. • Do not touch the bit after operation. It will be very hot. • Keep your hands away from under the workpiece. If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury. Adjusting the driving depths The depth to which a screw is driven into the wall or other surface can be accurately set to suit the type of screw and the material being fastened. The driving depth is adjusted with the depth adjustment collar (2). 1. Pull the depth adjustment collar forward towards the nose piece (1) as far as it will go. 2. To increase the driving depth rotate the depth adjustment collar in a clockwise direction (viewed from the rear). 3. To decrease the driving depth rotate the depth adjustment collar in an anti-clockwise direction (viewed from the rear). 4. When the driving depth has been correctly adjusted pull the depth adjustment collar backwards the rear of the tool until it touches the large hex nut (4) on the front of the tool housing. NOTE. It may be necessary to drive a number of screws into a test piece of material to establish the ideal driving depth adjustment. Fitting a 1/4” shank bit 1/4” Shank bits and bit holder extensions such as the one supplied as an accessory can be fitted into the magnetic hex shank bit holder (3) located inside the nose piece (1). The magnetic hex shank bit holder makes it easier and quicker to fit screw driving bits. When removing screws and other fasteners, make sure that the depth adjustment collar (2) is pulled all the way forwards towards the nose piece (1) and that forward/reverse switch (9) is positioned on the left-hand side of the tool (as viewed from the rear). Switching on and off 1. To switch the tool on, squeeze the variable speed trigger switch (7). 2. The more pressure exerted on the switch the faster the motor will turn. 3. Releasing the trigger switch stops the motor. CAUTION. Always maintain tight control of the tool when switching on and off and remember that the motor will continue to turn for a short while after switching off. 8 Direction of rotation The direction of motor rotation is controlled by the forward/ reverse switch (9). 1. The bit rotates in a clockwise direction (viewed from the rear) when the forward/reverse sw...
