It allows for labelling 199 messages and a maximum recording time of 238 minutes. Before You Begin Parts Checklist Make sure your package includes the following items: Earphone Recorder REC MODE/PAUSE ERASE SEARCH PLAY/STOP 000000SP M S Two “AAA” Batteries Installing the Batteries 1. Press and slide off the battery compartment cover. 2. Insert 2 AAA-size alkaline batteries into the battery compartment. Be sure the (+) cap end of each battery is installed as shown on the diagram in the battery compartment. Installing the batteries incorrectly can damage the unit. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover and snap into place. Note: Make sure the recorder is in the STOP position when installing or replacing batteries. Checking the Battery Level Press the PLAY/STOP or REC button to check the battery level. Fully Charged Half Charged Needs Charging When the battery display flashes, replace the batteries immediately. Note: Refer to the “Specifications” section for the battery life. Display The display tells you the function and status of the unit. 000000SP M S 00 Shows the current recording or recorded message (01 - 199). Shows the battery level SP Recording speed REC• Status (HOLD, REC, PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, ERASE, SCAN, no InF) 00oo Recording time for each message (in minutes and seconds). Note: If the display does not come on after the batteries are replaced, check the plus/minus polarities of the batteries to make sure they are positioned correctly. If the display still does not come on, remove the batteries and contact your local dealer for inspection or repair. HOLD REC/STOP PHONE Speaker Earphone jack MIC jack Microphone MIC VOL dial Clip -Allows user to attach to shirt pocket or belt. REC (Record indicator) - Lights when the recorder is on. PLAY/STOP - Used for playing messages, scanning messages, and turning on the recorder. Press again to stop playing messages. Press during recording to display the total time remaining. SEARCH (>> forward) -Advances the messages one at a time during playback. Pressing and holding scans forward through the messages during playback. During recording, press SEARCH to advance to the next available number for recording. SEARCH (<< backward) - Moves backward through the messages one at a time during playback. Pressing and holding scans backward through the messages during playback. RECORD MODE/PAUSE - Used to turn on the recorder and select the recording speed. Also used to pause during playback or recording of messages. ERASE - Used to erase one or all messages together with the REC/STOP button. REC/STOP - Used for recording messages, turning on the recorder, and erasing messages. HOLD - Used to lock buttons to protect the recorder from being turned on accidentally. VOL (Volume) dial - Increases the audio. PHONE (Earphone) jack - Monitor recordings and messages and used as an output jack. MIC jack - Used for an optional external microphone and as an input jack. Turning the Voice Recorder ON/OFF Pressing either the PLAY/STOP, REC MODE/ PAUSE, or REC/STOP button turns the voice recorder on.The voice recorder turns off automatically approximately two minutes after no buttons have been pressed.
