Before operating the unit, please read and follow these instructions completely. A WARNING - To avoid risk of fire or burns, follow these instructions. r > ■ If battery electrolyte comes into contact with the eyes, do not rub your eyes; instead, thoroughly flush the eyes with a large quantity of clean water. Immediately seek medical attention. f' N ■ Dead batteries should be removed from the appliance. Failure to follow this instruction may result In batteries leaking electrolyte, overheating or exploding. ■ Batteries should not be disassembled or modified. ■ Do not use rechargeable batteries. V / ■ Keep the appliance out of reach of children and infants. f" N ■ Do not disassemble, repair or modify the appliance. 2 A CAUTION - In order to prevent the user of this product from being injured and prevent the product from being damaged, please follow the safety instructions. ■ Batteries should be positioned properly. ■ Follow the instructions on the batteries. ■ Be sure to switch off the appliance after use. ■ Check the appliance periodically (for operation and battery leaks). Failure to follow this instruction may result In batteries leaking electrolyte, overheating or exploding. /-N ■ Use the appliance only on a flat surface. ■ Do not shake the appliance. ■ Do not drop or hit the appliance. ■ Do not move the appliance while it is in motion. ■ Do not remove bowl while appliance is operating. ■ Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than ice shaving. ■ Do not put anything other than ice (e.g. a spoon) into the bowl. ■ Do not use the appliance for more than five consecutive minutes. ■ Do not touch the cutting blade with your hand because it is sharp and may cause injury. ■ Do not adjust the screws securing the cutting blade. 3 PARTS IDENTIFICATION AND FUNCTION How to insert the batteries © Remove the battery cover from the main body. (D Insert four D-size batteries into the main body. (D Snap the battery cover into place. ♦ Do not use new and old batteries together and do not mix battery types. ♦ Do not reverse the batteries. ♦ Alkaline batteries are recommended. 4 HOW TO USE How to use □ Remove the bowl. © Align the matchmark on the bowl (fofinseSn/removal) with the matchmark for insertion/ on the main body removal on the main body. Crush such ice pieces before putting in the hopper. □ Position the bowl. © Insert the bowl by aligning the matchmarks on the bowl and match marks on the main body. (D Turn the bowl so the matchmark on it becomes aligned with the next matchmark (for the initial position). ♦ If the bowl stops turning, do not force it to turn; instead, pull it out once and then turn the hopper slightly. After that, reposition the bowl again. □ Position a cup on the base to receive the shaved ice. ♦ Adjust its position so that shaved ice will fall into the cup. 5 El Flip the switch to the ON position to shave the ice. ♦ If the appliance stops halfway through shaving the ice, immediately flip the switch to OFF and perform the reversing operation. -> Refer to "How to reverse the direction of rotation" (page 7). ♦ If the appliance stops frequently, replace the batteries. ♦ When the appliance is shaving the ice, only a little shaved ice may come out.
