These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.” 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Open the lid. Remove the beverage holder (pull up to release the two clips). LID REVERAGE HOLDER CLIPS 4. Gently remove the shift indicator trim ring (four tabs). Take care not to damage the tabs. TRIM RING SHIFT CONSOLE TABS (4) VEHICLE CONNECTORS SHIFT INDICATOR CLIPS (7) PANEL 5. Move the shift lever to the N position, then remove the coin box. COIN BOX CLIPS (2) CENTER PANEL LOWER TRIM MAT CLIPS (2) 7. Remove the mat and center panel lower trim (four clips). 8. Open the accessory socket cover, and remove the center lower cover (four self-tapping screws, release the harness clip, and disconnect the accessory socket connector). ACCESSORY HARNESS SOCKET CLIP CONNECTOR CENTER LOWER ACCESSORY SOCKET COVER SELF-TAPPING SCREWS COVER 9. While wearing gloves, reach under the center panel and release each of the three bottom clips. Carefully pull the center panel out toward you to release the ten clips. Unplug the vehicle connectors, and remove the center panel. Remove the two self-tapping screws and four bolts that secure the radio brackets. Pull the audio unit out toward you, unplug the six vehicle connectors and the antenna lead and remove the audio unit. VEHICLE CONNECTORS (6) ANTENNA SELF-TAPPING SCREWS BOLTS (4) AUDIO LEAD UNIT 11. Remove the right front side step trim (four clips). CLIPS (4) RIGHT FRONT SIDE STEP TRIM 12. Remove the weatherstrip. Remove the right front kick panel (one screw clip and one clip). SCREW CLIP RIGHT FRONT WEATHERSTRIP CLIP KICK PANEL 13. Remove the glove box by removing the self- tapping screw from the damper rod, then release the two stoppers and remove the two bolts. BII 31179-34943 (0704) 5 of 8 5527031B GLOVE BOX MUSIC LINK HARNESS 19 mm HOLE MUSIC LINK HARNESS DIN CONNECTOR GROMMET 14. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the Music Link harness as shown. 15. Route the Music Link harness through the grommet. 16. Cut one cushion tape into 4 equal pieces, and wrap two pieces of the cushion tapes to the Music Link harness at the measurements shown. 17. To prevent damage, wrap electrical tape around the drill bit at a point about 30 mm away from the tip. While wearing eye protection, drill a 19 mm (3/4 in.) hole through the marked location. Remove all burrs from the drilled hole. 18. Route the Music Link harness DIN connector into the 19 mm hole in the direction shown, and install the grommet to the 19 mm hole. 5527041B MUSIC LINK HARNESS GLOVE BOX GLOVE BOX OPENING AUDIO UNIT OPENING 19.
