Insert 4 “AA” batteries as indicated on diagram. Unit can now play iPod. Batteries will not charge iPod. 4:iPod off on line-in NOTE: If you do not have an insert for your iPod, please visit or call iHome toll free at 800-288-2792 to purchase one iPod Touch 2G thin iPod with video (30 GB) Insert 9 nano 4G insert 17 thin (30 GB) iPod with video nano 4G thin (80, 120GB) iPod classic iPod touch 2G insert 16 For this iPod Use this insert off on line-in 3:inserts Connect AC adaptor to the DC jack (behind dock on the iH29) and plug the other end into a working wall socket to charge and play iPod. Does not charge batteries. Gently place iPod on the connector plug in dock. Slide Power Switch to ON. Unit and iPod will turn on. Adjust volume by pressing the + or – Button. Select the dock insert for your iPod model from the table above and place insert in dock. Never dock an iPod without an insert in place. Controls and Indicators Top Panel 2 Line-in Jack Speaker Off/On Switch Volume “_” (lowers volume) Volume “+” (raises volume) AC Adaptor Jack Left Battery Compartment Right Battery Compartment off on line-in Dock Using the iH29 3 Installing/Replacing Speaker Batteries FOR PORTABLE LISTENING 1. Open the battery compartment covers located on the left and right inside the unit. 2. Insert 4 “AA” batteries (2 in each compartment), checking the + and – ends of the batteries match the drawings inside the battery compartments. We recommend the use of alkaline batteries for longer life. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed. 3. Close the compartment cover. NOTE: Unit will not charge iPod while operating on battery power Batteries Information • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries. • Make sure you dispose of batteries properly (see your local regulations). Connecting the AC Adaptor Connect the AC adaptor cable plug into the DC jack behind the dock, then plug the AC adaptor into the wall outlet. When connected to the AC adaptor, the iH29 charges and lets you play your iPod. NOTE: This AC adaptor is for use with the iH29 only. To avoid damage, do not use other adaptors with iH29. Playing and Charging your iPod 1. Place proper insert for your iPod (see insert table on Quick Start Section) in Dock, then gently dock iPod. When docked and connected to AC power, the iPod will charge until fully charged. The iPod will not overcharge. 2. Switch the Power On/Off Switch to “ON” to play iPod and the power on indicator will light up to show iH29 is on. 3. Press the + or – Button to adjust the volume. 4. To switch off the unit, slide the Power On/Off Switch to “OFF”. It will switch off both iP29 and your iPod. NOTE: If the Power On/Off Switch is in the ON position when you dock an iPod that is paused or off the iPod will autoplay (turn on and begin playing). off on line-in RESET RESET TEST TEST Battery Compartment off on line-in 4 Using iH29 Using the Line-in Jack 1. Plug one end of a standard audio patch cord (not included) into the headphone or line-out jack on your audio device and the other end of the patch cord into the iH29 Line-in Jack. 2. Switch the Power On/Off Switch to “ON” and the power on indicator will light up to show iH29 is on. You need to set your device to play too. 3. Press the + or – Button to adjust the volume. You may need to adjust your device’s volume, too. 4. To switch off the unit, slide the Power On/Off Switch to ‘OFF’. Do remember to switch off your device, too.
